Electrocoaugulation (also known as thermolysis) is a form of permanent epilation which utilises high frequency alternating current. This method requires the use of an extremely thin needle, inserted directly in the hair canal, until the hair follicle itself. The needle, fitted with electrodes, releases a small electric shock near the hair bulb, which heats up and hardens. After a few moments, the hair, without a root, can be painlessly removed with the use of tweezers. During the operation, the skin is never pierced, as the needle (which in truth is more of a probe) is inserted into the hair follicle without any skin penetration.
Action and results Thermolisis provides the treatment and removal of each individual hair, one at a time, and is therefore a slow procedure, particularly effective at removing thin hairs in small areas such as the lips, chin, ears, sideburns and neck.
It is also a unique solution for permanent epilation of white hairs or hair residue after ineffective light and laser technology.
